Simple Flash Blog

This tutorial explain in detail how you can create a simple flash slideshow with twinkling transitions between pictures. I’m using Flash CS3 and the result will be similar with the one below:

STEPS TO FOLLOW

1. First prepare 5 awesome pictures for your slideshow, having width:267 pixels and height: 200 pixels.

2. Create a new flash document and save it as flashslideshow.fla on yout computer. Go to the Properties panel or to Modify >> Convert to Symbol (F8) and set dimensions to 267×230 pixels.

3. Insert 6 new layers and give them the names from top to bottom: text, bgtext, picture1, picture2, picture3, picture4, picture5.

4. Now we have to import to the Library our pictures. Go to File >> Import >> Import to Library. In the Import to Library window that appears choose the image you want to insert in the slideshow and press Open button. Repeat this operation for all 5 pictures from the slideshow.

5. In the first frame of the picture1 layer drag the first picture of your slideshow. Go to the Properties panel and set X:0.0; Y:0.0. Now insert keyframes to frames 2 to 7, and then to frame 30. Then select the frame 2 and press Delete key to delete its content. Repeat the action for frames 4 and 6.

6.Now go to the frame 31 of picture2 layer and insert the second picture of your flash slideshow. Repeat step 5 for the rest of the pictures (see picture below). Download the flash slideshow to see more details (at the bottom of the tutorial).

7. Now go to the first frame of textbg layer. Select the Rectangle tool (R), choose #336600 for fill color and none for the stroke color. Draw an rectangle having dimensions 200×30 pixels. Arrange the rectangle at the bottom of the stage.

8. Now we’ll add some text containing the descriptions of the pictures. Go to the first frame of the text layer and insert here a text field. Set the font Arial, size 14, bold and white color. Write the description of the first picture. Then go to the frame 30 and insert a keyframe. Insert a new keyframe at frame 31 and write here the description of the second picture .. and so on.
